Can I tell if my door lock is about to break?

It may be worth changing your door lock if it starts to show any of these warning signs

  1. Your handle droops excessively or feels loose
  2. The locking points shown signs of damage or are worn.
  3. Your handle makes a clunking or grinding noise when operated.
  4. You need to use unnecessary force when turning your handle and closing the door
  5. One or more of the locking points fails to operate fully when you lift the handle

Why does my door lock need replacing?

Because it has to operate a number of lock bolts and rollers along the length of the lock, the multipoint lock in your door works hard – so it won’t last as long as conventional locks.

Will I get charged for a second visit if your locksmith needs to return with any parts?

No. You will only get charged for one call out, plus time on site.
